Residential Garage Door Repair
(Broken Torsion Springs, Cables, Hinges, Rollers, Bearings and Brackets)
(There are few things in the home as critical as a broken garage door with your car stuck inside. An inoperable garage door will deny access to your garage, trapping whatever is inside. Our techs carry the parts needed to get your door running as quickly and efficiently.)
Garage Door Spring Replacement
If your door doesn’t go up, nine times out of ten, it’s the torsion springs. Although garage doors have an estimated 10 year spring life, a door with a high usage rate may only last five or six years. If this is your situation, speak to our technicians about a spring cycle upgrade.
Once our techs arrive on site, they will get measurements on your garage door such as size and weight. We use this information to calculate the exact replacement spring your door needs.
We stock our trucks with the springs needed to fix most residential garage doors, which means we can probably fix your garage door in one trip! If we don’t have the correct spring, we use a temporary repair method to get your overhead door operational until a new spring arrives.
Cable Replacement & Repair
Another common issue is with residential garage doors are broken, damaged or misaligned cables. Over time the cables can become frayed causing additional problems. We carry replacement cables and the parts needed to make custom cable lengths. Either way, we can get you running no matter what size of door you may have.
Damaged Garage Door Panels
With such high usage, someone is bound to run into your garage door with there care sometime or other. Don’t panic tho… just because your door panels are bent and crooked, doesn't mean we can’t do anything with it. Using a combination of steel reinforcement struts and brute force, most doors can be made operational again.
Residential Garage Door Maintenance
(Oiling hinges, torsion springs, brackets and rollers, spring and motor adjustments)
Avoiding a costly or surprise repair bill may be as easy as a scheduled maintenance service. Keeping your running properly can safe your future time and frustration.
Adjusting Door Spring Tension.
Why your garage door springs need adjusted:
Keeping your springs adjusted properly is one of the best things you can do for your garage door. Out of balance springs make the door heavy to lift up and down. If you have an electric opener, it puts more strain and stress on the operator, causing it to wear out prematurely. Your door will take unnecessary strain as well since the added force needed to open the door puts additional pressure on the hinges and sections.
Adjusting Spring Tension.
When servicing your garage door, we will check the current balance of the springs. If the springs need adjusted, we continue adding tension until the door sits halfway up in the opening on spring tension alone. We will also oil the springs and check for broken or damaged parts.
Oil Door Hinges, Rollers and Bearings.
Garage Door Preventative Maintenance
When servicing your garage door, we go over the entire thing, checking for bent hinges, damaged rollers, worn bearings, twisted brackets and frayed cables. We stock most of the necessary parts to get your door running on the spot. Using a specially formulated garage door oil, we lube all hinge points, rollers, springs, and bearings. We also oil and grease the chain and rail of your electric operator as needed.
Residential Garage Door Opener Service and Repair
(Gear Repair, Chain and Belt Adjustment, Greasing and Oiling Garage Door Openers)
Residential Garage Door Opener Repair
Modern residential openers are reliable and efficient, lasting many years if installed correctly. Any opener will eventually wear out and when it does, proper diagnostics are important for saving both time and money.
Opener Gear Repair
One of the most common operator repair situations is a failed motor gear. Over time the opener’s internal gear will wear down until the gear completely strips out. This results in the opener just humming or grinding when you want to run your garage door.
Operator Computer Board
The garage door openers computer board is one of several major replacement parts. A failed logic board will result in an opener that is totally dead or makes strange clicking sounds when the button is pressed. We stock most common common computer boards on our trucks to get you up and running as soon as possible.
Safety Sensor Repair
The safety sensors, or ‘eyes’, are another common problem point. If the sensors get wet or damage they can keep the door from closing properly. Alternatively, garage door safety sensor misalignment or debris on the lenses can be the problem. In this situation, we will make the required adjustments without replacing any parts.
Wall Control Replacement
A failed wall control, though uncommon, does happen. If this is the case, we come prepared with a wide variety of replacement wall buttons for your door.
Residential Garage Door Opener Maintenance
In addition to standard repair, we will maintain your opener by oiling, adjusting and greasing your opener in all the needed areas. We will check the chain or belt for proper tension and adjust the operator limits and force settings as needed.
